U.S. Chamber of Commerce Endorses Geoff Davis

Erlanger, KY –

Businessman Geoff Davis announced today that he has received the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses.

“I am very proud of this endorsement.  As a small business owner, I am committed to supporting policies in Congress that will encourage economic growth and job creation.  Additionally, we need to reform the way we regulate small business.  Our regulatory agencies need to work with businesses, not against them,” Geoff Davis said.

“For twelve years, I have owned and operated my own business consulting firm, a business I started from scratch.  Over the years, we have worked with dozens of businesses to make them more competitive and to help them create more jobs.  Voters in this district want a Congressman with entrepreneurial experience.  We need a Congressman who has firsthand knowledge of what it takes to expand our economy and create jobs,” Davis continued.

“Small business owners in the 4th Congressional District are facing a lot of tough issues right now.  Healthcare costs are rising too fast.  Excessive litigation costs too much.  There are steps we can take in Congress to help address these problems, and I look forward to working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on those issues,” said Davis.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

June 3, 2004

Dear Geoff:

On behalf of the world’s largest business federation representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector and region, I am pleased to inform you that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors has endorsed your candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives.

The Chamber will work to ensure that the 109th Congress is one that works diligently in the interests of businesses large and small and advances legislation that encourages economic growth, job creation and a less intrusive federal government.

At no other time in our nation’s history has it been more critical that Members of Congress provide leadership that protects and advances the interests of the business community.  We believe that your election to the U.S. House of Representatives will help produce sustained economic growth and promote America’s competitiveness in world markets.

The Chamber will be in direct contact with our members in your state promoting you as our candidate of choice.  Historically, a Chamber endorsement has served candidates well.  In the 2002 elections, 91% of Chamber endorsed candidates won.  A survey of likely voters done after the 2002 elections by the Brigham Young University found the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to be the most credible source for information about candidates when making decisions about which candidate to support.

We will encourage the business community to vigorously support your candidacy.  Should you have any questions or specific needs, please contact Bill Miller, the Chamber’s National Political Director, at 202-463-5638.

Again, our congratulations and best wishes for a successful campaign.

Sincerely,

Thomas J. Donohue
President & CEO
